Notes from January 15, 2020 Meeting

Dear Everybody,

Today’s meeting was simply great. We welcomed two guests – Sherry Dix (my wonderful son-in-law’s wonderful mom, who is undoubtedly a big reason that Chase is the man he is), and David Serey. We were also joined by Sharman Hickman and Aaron Cheatham of Hickman’s Family Farms. Sharman heads up Community Relations for Hickman’s, and Aaron was our guest speaker.

And, Aaron was simply terrific. We learned more about his work as the Reentry and Transition Manager at Hickman’s, and the impact and potential impact the program he runs can have on the lives of former inmates and their families. His presentation was warm, genuine, articulate, and engaging. If you didn’t get to hear him speak, you can get an idea of his delivery by going to YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aJQhGfecBs&t=67s. We all left the meeting today ready to do whatever we could to further Aaron’s impact on the community.

Aaron is available to speak to groups and classes, preferably of 15 and more. He can be reached at acheatham@hickmanseggs.com, or by calling 623-691-6777. If you need a speaker for one of your other organizations or groups, he would be perfect.

In other news, Brooke Schiavone announced that Z’s Fine Jewelry needs another employee part time, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 until 6, and Saturday from 9 until 4. She also said that their annual Estate Sale is February 7 and 8, and estate jewelry will be half price. So Valentine’s Day shoppers – mark your calendars now. She says there is a lot of great stuff in the estate jewelry section.

So, that’s the field report. I hope you have a great rest of the week, and that those of you felled by pestilence and disease are on the road to recovery soon.

Best wishes,
Jody Serey
