Notes from December 11, 2019 Meeting

Dear Everybody,

Christmas appears to be coming whether we’re ready or not, so here are some reminders for next week (December 18).

Our party will be held during the meeting time, but we will undoubtedly go over the time limit. If you can, try to weasel a few minutes extra out of your schedule to have some extra fun. We are having one of Brooke’s specially directed gift exchanges. The theme is “holiday item,” and the suggested limit is $20.

We would also welcome any past or emeritus member who would like to join us to come on! You know the way. We would be delighted to see you.  And you are welcome any time of the year.

Marie warned us that counterfeit season is also here, and to be careful to check any bills that you are given to make sure they are real. We are hoping that she will give a presentation in the near future to show us how to tell the real money from the funny money.

New member Cheri Smith reports that business is good, and she would up for planning a girls’ cruise for next fall. There was a lot of interest shown by the members, so maybe that can become a reality.

Lupe and Brooke both reported on their respective toy drives. Both of these women are bona fide Santa’s helpers, and will have made an army of kids happy this season by the time the last candy cane has been unwrapped.

Lupe also gave us a blow by blow description of her disarming of the neighbors next to the Glendale property she recently purchased. Her ability to sprinkle diplomacy like fairy dust is unbelievable. She does with cookies what usually requires a tranquilizing dart gun.

Our next meeting will be January 8, 2020. It will be a business meeting, because it is the first meeting of the month. Does anybody want to sponsor the first raffle of the New Year? Just let me know.

Best wishes,
Jody Serey
