Notes from May 8, 2019 Meeting

Dear Everybody,

We had a very informative meeting, although we missed those of you who couldn’t be with us this morning. We hope you will be with us next week when Dr. Misty is our member speaker.

Pet Health Pharmacy in Youngtown was recommended for those of us with furry, feathered, or finny friends who need medication. The phone is 800-742-0516 and the website is www.pethealthpharmacy.com. Vickie read the phone number from the side of a pen, proving once again the power of promotional products.

We touched on the plethora of scams currently making the rounds. Marie has a presentation on scams for seniors that she can present to us in an abbreviated form, which we are eager to have her do. Even if you aren’t a senior, you probably know somebody who could benefit from the information. Lupe – who definitely doesn’t fit the senior bill – reported that she had a call that her “Social Security account was suspended and her number was inactivated.” Vickie and Marie both assured her that Social  Security never makes threats on the phone. Communications come through the mail and are always written.

Lupe was tapped to go to court with Landrie and Natalie Stahl on June 3 as an undercover translator. Lupe also announced that her son had taken a goat as a birthday present to a party over the weekend. The goat was not required to jump out of a cake, and was welcomed with great excitement by the birthday child’s family. She also indicated that she might be adding a miniature horse to her mini farm.  She is just a turnstile and a popcorn machine shy of a full petting zoo.

We believe that Judy Haenel is not involved in the events at the veterans’ cemetery this Memorial Day. Plans did not come together.

Marie said that the bank has several very good products available right now. There is a 2.25% interest savings account for both personal and business customers. They also offer a 2.99% interest equity line. For details, talk to Marie at MidFirst Bank. She speaks fluent money.

The Community Baby Shower being sponsored by Susan and  Chuck Fitzgerald at their home is May 17. A flyer has been posted on our Facebook page.

Mother’s Day is this Sunday. Not all of our members are mothers, but we certainly all had mothers. So one way or the other, we will be thinking about what motherhood all means. Natalie and I decided some time back that maternal guilt started with Eve when one of her kids killed the other with a rock. Using Eve as the basis for comparison, I think we can all relax a little bit about how we turned out, or how our kids are doing.

Try to be kind to yourself on Sunday, whether you are the “mom” to children with two legs or four hairy ones. And remember that Z’s Fine Jewelry, The Tulip Tree, and Healing Hands Chiropractic are all offering Mother’s Day specials.

Vickie Mikoch added two things to my notes from yesterday’s meeting. She says:

One thing forgotten in the notes was the great business card scratch pads Susan Fitzgerald passed out to all of us. What a great idea and something useful, too!!! She also sent additional contact information for the Pet Health Pharmacy that we discussed yesterday. Here it is:

Their local number is: 623-214-2791

Their address is: 12012 N. 111th Ave – Youngtown, 85363

They are off 111th between Arizona and Alabama

Thanks, Vickie, for the updates.

Have a great rest of the week!
