Thrifty Joe’s, located in Glendale on the northwest corner of Bell Road and 59th Avenue, features more than 60,000 books, a large collection of vinyl records of all genres, and a vast array of CDs, DVDs, and video games. Book prices are discounted at least half of the original retail cost, and in many instances are much lower. All other items are also available at discounted prices. The bookstore opened more than 18 years ago, and has become a neighborhood fixture in the West Valley. Customers who used to be the children sorting through the games and movies now bring their entire families. In 2009, Thrifty Joe’s was selected the Best Budget Bookstore by the readers of the Phoenix New Times, and was named in the November 2009 Phoenix Magazine as one of the best 130 local shops.

Thrifty Joe’s also buys used books, CDs, DVDs, records, and video games. We pay cash up front, unlike other stores that issue a credit or operate on an exchange program.

Our 4,000 square foot location also houses a full-service United State Post Office branch.
